The only signed photograph of him mentioning Christmas that we have seen

Dr. Frank Fremont-Smith was a Boston physician who also practiced on Bar Harbor, Maine in the summer, had a notable cottage there, and helped found Mount Desert Island Hospital. His wife was a prominent socialite, whose comings and goings, and attendance at Bar Harbor functions and receptions, were followed by the society pages of such publications as the New York Times.

An 11 by 14 inch photograph by photographer George Prince, inscribed and signed, "To Mrs. Fremont Smith, with a Merry Xmas, from Theodore Roosevelt, December 20th, 1907." This is the only signed photograph of him mentioning Christmas that we have ever seen.

Accompanying this is a photograph of the First Lady, of about the same size. It is inscribed and signed, "For Mrs. Fremont Smith, Edith Kermit Roosevelt."
