Document Signed as President, on vellum, Washington, July 2, 1836, granting letters patent to Henry Koon for an improvement in the fly net “for saddle, gig and carriage horses.” Very good, with a paper and wax seal partly missing in the middle, and a large signature of Jackson. The document is countersigned by John Forsyth as Secretary of State and by Benjamin F. Butler as Attorney General. Forsyth’s signature is a bit light. It is rare to find a document signed by a president and two cabinet members, this being our first in some time.
A fly net is designed to fit over a harness and has adjustable fasteners to fit any style of harness. This fly net does an excellent job of keeping biting flies off the horse. Great for carriage driving and farm field work. There are also fly nets to fit just over a horse’s head to keep flies off the head.
