Sold by Maggs nearly a century ago
Giacomo Puccini is regarded as the greatest and most successful composer of Italian opera, after Verdi. His works are among the most frequently performed and recorded of all operas.
A large autograph musical quotation signed by operatic composer Puccini for his masterpiece and most famous work, “La Boheme”. Done entirely in Puccini’s hand, the composer writes “La Boheme” above its stanza, and signs “Giacomo Puccini / Palermo / 29-3-1901″. This is part of a fine collection put together many years ago.
Very scarce, this is our first Puccini signed quote from La Boheme.
