Typed letter signed, Washington DC, January 8, 1980, to Conservative ally and Reagan friend Doug Morrow.

“January 20th promises to be a day full of … excitement, new beginnings, renewed confidence in the future …
and cold weather. To help prepare you for the typical January day in Washington (your heart will be warm as you watch our next President being sworn in, but believe me, your feet won’t be) I will be hosting a coffee and doughnut Pre-Inaugural Warm-Up in my office across the street from the Capitol Building.

Come by anytime from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. (you will want to give yourself ample time to walk over to the West Front of the Capitol where the Inaugra-tion will be held). My office is on the second floor of the Rayburn House
Office Building, Suite 2240.

Please be forewarned that there is virtually no parking available in the area of the Capitol.

I look forward to seeing you on the day when our old friend will ascend to the Presidency of the United States of America — a great leader for the greatest nation on earth.”
